LOS ANGELES, CA / MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – (DECEMBER 2, 2011) – When their Wicked Pictures epics Horizon andThe Rocki Whore Picture Show: A Hardcore Parody swept the 2012 XBIZ nominations, stars jessica drake, Kaylani Lei and Alektra Blue celebrated the news with a series of highly publicized personal appearances at Melbourne, Australia’s SexpoSexuality & Lifestyle Expo, where they appeared on behalf of Wicked Pictures last week.
While Sexpo organizers invited the Wicked Girls™ to appear as part of an effort to showcase “international performers who represent all the best aspects of adult entertainment,” the Wicked excitement began mounting before the convention doors had even opened, with jessica doing a special store appearance at Mildura’s Club X adult boutique. This special event was covered, like many of the girls’ adventures Down Under, by the G4 TV network for the upcoming special Sexpo Melbourne, hosted by jessica drake and premiering December 18, 2011. While she was in Mildura, jessica made headlines when she rode with the Quick Fix Harley team; as reported by Fox News’Herald Sunand many other media outlets, biker Steve Butler landed in the hospital with a ruptured spleen after trying to impress the winsome Wicked Girl™with some exceptionally complicated stuntwork (for the complete story, go to http://bit.ly/v7axsG).
When she wasn’t cycling, diving with seals or flying experimental “aerochutes” (bit.ly/vY6Sch) for the G4 TV cameras, jessica joined Kaylani and Alektra at the convention, where the trio granted interviews, posed for photo opportunities and socialized with fans each day.
After hours, Alektra and Kaylani gave G4 TV a tour of the wildest nightclubs in Melbourne, including the videogame-themed Mana Bar and the Croft Institute, which had a fascinating mad-scientist’s lab feel to it. The many segments they participated in at the convention included a game session at the Carnal Carnival and a painting contest with Pricasso – a man who painted people’s portraits with his penis! In her role as the host of the Sexpo Melbourne special, Ms. drake also took G4 TV crews on tours of the convention’s many attractions.
The excitement reached a fever pitch Wednesday November 23, when Melbourne’s Palace Theater played host to the 2011 Eros Shine Awards. A glamorous new adult industry event, Eros Shine promoters designed the show to “celebrate those who achieve great things, run great businesses and provide great service, basically, those who shine!” Wicked Pictures was prominently represented, with jessica receiving the organization’s coveted Best International Adult Star award.
Reviewing her week Down Under, Ms. drake observes that “being the host of the G4 TV special gave me a very unique perspective on the show. I’ve attended Sexpo before, but this year I had a bird’s eye view of everything, plus I was able to do my favorite thing: meet and interact with the fans. Winning “Best International Adult Star” at the Eros Shine Awards was an honor, and I want to thank Sexpo, G4, Wicked, the Eros Shine Awards, the fans and our amazing Australian crew as well. I couldn’t have done it without all of you!”
For Alektra Blue, the the Australians’ hospitality was one of the true highlights of the week. “I had such a great time at Sexpo! I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much in my life. I had to tell fans to stop making me laugh because my face muscles hurt. Now that’s a good time! I love Australia and I can’t wait to go back.”
Kaylani Lei was equally moved by her experiences in Melbourne. “This was definitely my favorite trip so far! I am honored and thrilled to have been a part of Sexpo!”
The convention’s organizers were just as delighted to have the Wicked Girls™at the show, with Sexpo Australia General Manager Rob Goodwin enthusing, “Wicked and its contract stars were a huge hit at the Melbourne Sexpo 2011! jessica, Alektra and Kaylani are simply awesome, and the Australian fans love them. We have already had requests for a repeat visit at our Sydney Sexpo in March 2012!”
