(CANOGA PARK, CA. — January 11, 2012)
With its central location in the San Fernando Valley, thousands of memorable movies have been filmed at Studio 8033 over the years. However, non-stop production had taken its toll on the facilities and some of the sets and infrastructure had fallen into disrepair. Now, a brand new owner and management team is stepping in to give the space a new lease on life and a new name: Remmet Studios.
A long list of improvements is already underway and the new Remmet Studios is already open for business for adult and mainstream alike.
“We are very excited to be taking over Studio 8033, which we are calling Remmet Studios from here on out,” said Laura, who spearheaded the acquisition. “Most people in the industry call it ‘Remmet’ anyway, so we wanted to just take the name back to the one that’s universally known.”
With the new easily recognizable name come several welcome changes: Studios B, C, D, E and F are now simply studios 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 and boast over 15,000 square feet of usable production space.
Along with cleaning and remodeling all the sets, the team is rebuilding and remodeling many of them to have a more professional appearance and reinforcing the walls and doors for strength. The green rooms and bathrooms are all being fully remodeled. Increased parking and a new loading dock are also in the works to accommodate larger productions.
In the future, customers can expect sets including: high end offices with conference rooms, executive offices, break room, cubicle bullpen, hallways, and a elevator set with functioning doors. They are also are in the works of building an indoor basketball court complete with bleachers, as well as the requisite classrooms and dorm rooms.
Once all the improvements have passed the meticulous eyes of the new ownership, they will be hosting a Grand Opening party so everyone can come see the difference.
