(Hollywood, CA) <\/strong>Even though adult movie director Will Ryder<\/strong> is enjoying his best-year-ever in the porn business with a steady string of commercial and critical hit movies, nothing could have prepared him for winning a lifetime achievement award Monday night in Tampa Florida.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt first I thought they called the wrong guy,\u201d Ryder <\/strong>joked when asked about the prestigious award presented <\/strong>by NightMoves Magazine <\/strong>at the 17th<\/sup> annual NightMoves Awards<\/strong> hosted by Ron Jeremy<\/strong> and Teagan Presley<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I learned that NightMoves wanted to bestow this incredible honor on me I thought wait a minute aren\u2019t I too young to be getting a lifetime achievement award but then newbie talent Courtney Page handed me a beer and called me old man and I knew right there that the timing was perfect,\u201d Ryder<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n

Veteran adult movie reviewer Art Koch<\/strong> presented the award onstage to Will Ryder<\/strong> and had plenty to say about the director and his alter-persona Jeff Mullen<\/strong> from the stage and then later backstage where strippers changed costumes and porn stars gathered over cocktails.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s been nobody in the adult movie business in recent memory that has had the impact that he has had and with such an impressive track record of hit movies we all knew he was the best choice to receive our award this year,\u201d Koch<\/strong> said from backstage at the Dallas Bull nightclub in Tampa where the show was held.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt really is an honor and sometimes we get so busy at X-Play producing, directing and marketing our movies that we forget that we\u2019re having a real impact on the overall sales of this business,\u201d Ryder<\/strong> said. \u201cAll I know is that I love to tell a story and make people laugh and if they can jerk one off in the process it\u2019s a win-win situation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLook at how many companies have jumped on the parody bandwagon because of Will Ryder,\u201d Koch<\/strong> remarked.\u00a0 \u201cThat\u2019s a testament to his vision and leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe guy is a hit-maker that\u2019s for sure,\u201d said Hustler\/ LFP Video\u2019s<\/strong> creative director Drew Rose<\/strong> who has known Jeff Mullen<\/strong>\/Will Ryder<\/strong> for over a decade.\u00a0 \u201cNobody does it better and I really think that would be difficult to argue.\u00a0 For him to get a lifetime achievement award is amazing but every year he brings it big time and his body-of-work just this year alone says director-of-the-year by a wide margin.\u201d<\/p>\n
